blog post 02.

01. some of you may or may not know this, but today is michael jackson's 50th birthday. i was looking at an article (click "michael jackson's 50th birthday" to see it) and it shows a picture of what he might've looked like if he hadn't gotten surgery. personally, i'm not sure how i feel about it. part of me thinks, "it was his decision to get the surgery, the nose jobs, all of that", but another part of me is wondering, "why on earth did he do it in the first place?"

02. i got a 97 on my german test. pretty good, yeah? :)

03. in about thirty minutes i'll be leaving the school to hang out with my friend, kelson, and sarah. i'm really curious as to how the afternoon will turn out, because i'm really not very good friends with sarah. we'll be hitting up the spikes game later on. i'm excited for the hot dogs!

04. my music recommendation of the moment is the band, "mayday parade". they're more of an alternative/modern rock band. check out their song, "jersey" – it's my favorite of theirs.

05. i'm still cranking down on silence of the lambs.

06. i just got my new laptop bag in the mail. it's gorgeous. it's yellow, and on the flap, it says "genius" with a hand pointing upward. (aka, i'm the genius.) and i just decorated it with pins i got downtown. one says "colbert/stewart 2008", another says "drama" with a red line slashed through it, one has a smilie face, and the last is the ying-yang symbol. i love it!

07. my question of the day: if you could only use one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

blog post 01.

01. nothing messes up your day quite like spilling lunch all over the floor. and it was really good, too – spicy chickpeas mixed with rice.

02. then again, because of that little mishap (which took me about ten minutes to clean up, mind you), i had to go to mcdonald's so i could actually eat something. that's a bonus, right? :)

03. i'm about 100 pages away from finishing silence of the lambs by thomas harris (102 pages, to be exact). it's absolutely fantastic. although the premise of the story has to do with murder and psychological damage and absolute insanity in humans, i find a lot of the literature to be very poetically written. "the february evening was more raw than cold. a light fog off the mississippi river hung breast-high over the big parking area. directly overhead she could see the dying moon, pale and thin as a bone fishhook." that's the description of the night that catherine martin is kidnapped. also, just being able to get inside hannibal lecter's mind, as well as clarice's, is magnificent. it's so much more descriptive than the novel, but just as interesting and riveting.

04. right now, i'm listening to "tick tick boom" by the hives. what a great song! it's one of those songs that's nice to listen to as you're flying down the highway, you know?

05. question of the day; what's your favorite movie? it can be your all-time favorite, or a recent favorite, but let me know of a film that you really enjoy or that really means something to you.
