blog post 01.

01. nothing messes up your day quite like spilling lunch all over the floor. and it was really good, too – spicy chickpeas mixed with rice.

02. then again, because of that little mishap (which took me about ten minutes to clean up, mind you), i had to go to mcdonald's so i could actually eat something. that's a bonus, right? :)

03. i'm about 100 pages away from finishing silence of the lambs by thomas harris (102 pages, to be exact). it's absolutely fantastic. although the premise of the story has to do with murder and psychological damage and absolute insanity in humans, i find a lot of the literature to be very poetically written. "the february evening was more raw than cold. a light fog off the mississippi river hung breast-high over the big parking area. directly overhead she could see the dying moon, pale and thin as a bone fishhook." that's the description of the night that catherine martin is kidnapped. also, just being able to get inside hannibal lecter's mind, as well as clarice's, is magnificent. it's so much more descriptive than the novel, but just as interesting and riveting.

04. right now, i'm listening to "tick tick boom" by the hives. what a great song! it's one of those songs that's nice to listen to as you're flying down the highway, you know?

05. question of the day; what's your favorite movie? it can be your all-time favorite, or a recent favorite, but let me know of a film that you really enjoy or that really means something to you.

Hey Jess... too bad about your lunch. I bet whoever took you to McDonalds must love you very much. *G*

I would say one of my most favorite movies would be The Matrix. The special effects were amazing, but more than that... the story line made me think... and I love a move that makes you think.

As Morpheus asks Neo, "If you are dreaming and you can't wake up... how do you know it's a dream?", I sometimes wonder what truly is reality and what is .... not. The idea that we all go about our days... living life.... and not living life.... Being Conscious vs. Un-conscious.... it's all very interesting... don't you think?

About 15 years or so ago, my favorite movie was "When Harry Met Sally"... loved it! Then I started getting into following certain actors, directors, or producers. Like Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson, Will Smith, Bruce Willis, M. Night Shyamalan, and Jerry Bruckheimer. Since I've recently discovered "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley... that seems to have become my new favorite. I watch it all the time and I never get tired of it, it's mesmerizing.
